Sunday Plans

Ok, so the original plan for Sunday was to go to Renee's house at 4:30 to 5 (just to refresh your memories). Now, we're going to go after church/class. About noon-ish, and then we'll be done about 4-ish. So we're going at noon NOT 4! So, yea, this just works out better. THANK YOU RENEE!

Jesus & Friends

Jesus said,

"I am the way, the truth, and the life - no one comes to the Father, but by me."

Does that mean the only way to access God is through Jesus? Yes!

But that's not ALL it means.

Jesus' words, power, and strength all came from his Father. If we want to have a relationship with God that makes us stronger, wiser, more patient, loving and otherfull; we must learn to look at Jesus.

How did Jesus live? Would He be a good friend? How did he handle temptation? How much did he study the bible? Was in involved in politics, sports, music, arts, etc.?

Take a closer look at Jesus: His life and teachings.

Get to know Him, and you'll get to know His source of strength, courage, compassion, faith and love.

You'll find Him in Matthew, Mark, Luke & John

The 23rd Psalm

On "Friends" Sunday we talked about this Psalm. It's one of the top passages of the bible people memorize. I was going to read it, but just didn't get to it.

I finally figured out how to work this thing!!

Thank you guys so much for bringing your friends and participating in our very first bring a friend to church day!! I had a lot of fun and i hope you all did too. I hope we made a good impression on everybody! Whenever someone wants to do something like that again or if you guys get any good ideas on other things you want to do as a group dont be afraid to bring it up.

oh and try to get through the first half of genesis by Sunday. We're going to do some more reading in class and also do a little more writing in our journals. Also try to find one verse that you thinks merits some discussion. That way everyone can hear eachothers ideas on the reading.

THANK YOU ... for your fine day on Sunday! It was pretty cool for a first time. Hopefully some will want to join us and help build a great ministry here to bring glory to God.

Remember now to do two things:

1) send a note, email, or whatever to the guests who came, and talk to them about how they liked it and stuff, and thank them for coming. Show some interest in THEM, or it'll just seem like we asked them to come for US. (love your neighbor as yourself)

2) Think and pray about the day and how it went, and learn from your experience. Did you create a good
impression? Did you plan well? What things would you do differently? Stuff like that. God's servants seek always to be better and better.

Speaking of that, I've done both of these things. I called my friends to talk to them about their experience, and to thank them for coming. Also, I reviewed MY performance that day. I've realized that I basically stunk, and I'm sorry if I didn't give good enough. I'll (hopefully & with God's help) do better next time.

That's how it works. Serving God is a process, and we just try stuff, fix it when it's broken, improve it when we can, and celebrate when things go well.

I love you all so much - I hope I don't let you down.
